Miss Teen Bermuda Islands contestants ready for a busy week
The seven girls competing in this year?s Miss Teen Bermuda Islands pageant have a busy week of competition ahead of them.
One their first events, the Miss Photogenic competition, was held on Sunday at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess.
Pageant co-ordinator Terry Smith said the winner of that category will be announced at the pageant, which will take place Sunday at City Hall at 7 p.m.
Tomorrow the contestants will be meeting the judges for the first time while personal interviews with the judges will take place on Friday, he said.
The Miss Talent competition and fashion show is slated for Thursday at 8 p.m. at City Hall. Tickets for the event are $20 and are being sold at Personality Footworks in Washington Mall.
Tickets for Sunday?s pageant are $35 and are available at All In One Boutique in Washington Mall.
A variety of performances are planned for Sunday night including one from reigning the Miss Talent ? and runner up in the Miss Teen Idol Pageant ? Latoya Brangman. Jay Black of Bermuda Idol will also perform.
Mr. Smith promised a ?very exciting, very glamorous and very fun? evening.
?This is one of Bermuda?s most glamorous and upscale nights,? he said.
Miss Teen Bermuda Islands 2004, Stacy Pitcher, will also make a speech before handing over her crown to the new winner.
The judges for talent competition are Sean Tucker (who won the Voice of Bermuda contest), Diletta Gillespie, Waynette Hollis (Miss Talent and Miss Photogenic 2001) and local dancer/choreographer Jalani Lemay-Smith.
The pageant judges are PRIDE director Judith Burgess, Bermuda Regiment Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Edward Lamb, Sah-Shay Johnson (Miss Teen Bermuda Islands 2003), Michael DeCouto from the Department of Tourism and Darnell Todd-Winn (headmistress of Spicelands Middle School).
The girls will be at the roundabout with Johnny Barnes this morning from 7.30 a.m. to 8.30 a.m.
