Six men and a woman. That's the cast for 'Glengarry Glen Ross', the 1984 Pulitzer Prize-winning play by David Mamet which the Bermuda Musical & Dramatic Society will present at Daylesford Theatre from April 7 to April 12.

Directed by John Zuill, Mamet's 1984 Pulitzer Prize-winning play it is described as "a scathing comedy which dives into the psyche of hard-working, frustrated real estate salesmen trying to make ends meet and be part of the American dream". The cast includes Williamson, an arrogant bully, who intimidates and diminishes the effort of his salesmen and leaves them in misery as they begin to struggle to save their hides.

Mamet, dubbed the Arthur Miller of our time, writes with brutal power about the tough life of touch characters who cajole, connive, wheedle and wheel and deal for a piece of the action. The cast is comprised of James Brier, Andra Simons, Phillip Jones, Alan Smith, Eugene de Rosa, Steve Watts and Debbie Pharoah, recent winner of the 'Famous for Fifteen Minutes' playwriting contest.

Curtain time for all performances is 8 p.m.

Reserve April 13 for 'French Notes', a musical retrospective of the 17th to 21st centuries presented by ?at the Bermuda National Trust museum, 'Verdmont', in Smith's Parish.

There will be two performances, at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. featuring Laure Morabito (harpsichord) and Raymond Glatard (viola). Limited tickets ($35 members, $40 others) are available at Pulp & Circumstance Paper, 18 Queen Street. A reception will follow the musical programme.

Calling singers, dancers, actors! T is holding auditions for the musical, 'Fiddler on the Roof' on April 14 and 15. The venue is the Bermuda School of Music, the time is 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., and audition pieces are now available at Daylesford Theatre on the corner of Dundonald and Washington Streets from Monday to Friday.
