Rod and Martha Ferguson of Point Shares, Pembroke, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Emily to Christopher Trotter, the son of Paul and Lorene Trotter of Escanaba, Michigan.
Emily and Chris met at the Wintergreen Resort in Virginia where Emily was the Youth Coordinator for the Wintergreen Nature Foundation and Chris was the manager of the Devil?s Grill Bar and Restaurant.
In asking Emily to marry him, Chris took the plunge at an overlook of the same name at the resort in January of this year.
Sarah Louise Ward, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman F. Ward of Warwick, was named to the Dean?s List, at Pensacola Christian College in Florida, in for academic achievement during the 2005 fall semester. This was a result of earning a B average or higher.
Michele Cottingham has been placed on the Dean?s List at Berklee College of Music for the fall semester of the 2005 academic year.
To be eligible for this honour, a full-time student must achieve point average of 3.4 or above; a part-time student must achieve a grade point of 3.6 or above.
The Berklee curriculum focuses on practical career preparation for today?s music industry. Miss Cottingham is the daughter of Dudley and Debbie Cottingham of Devonshire.
Jamel Hardtman has been honoured for his community service at the New England Institute of Technology in Warwick, Rhode Island.
Mr. Hardtman, a dual degree student who is studying Video and Radio Production Technology and Management Technology, was one of seven students to be honoured for their service to the community as part of the college?s Feinstein Enriching America programme.
Mr. Hardtman received his award for his involvement as an active volunteer in the Big Brothers programme.
