People: Armstrong excels at Florida Air Academy
Cadet Kanhai Armstrong of Hamilton was recently recognised for his outstanding performance as a Cadet at Florida Air Academy, a private college preparatory school for boys age 11-17 (grades 6-12), in Melbourne, Florida.
Cadet Armstrong started his studies at the Academy in June 2002. Cadet Armstrong continues to excel academically in all areas of his studies to include the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) Programme. Cadet Armstrong, an 11th grader, will graduate from Florida Air Academy in June 2005. Kanhai Armstrong was a student at Berkely Institute.
Receiving the Commandant's Award one of the most prestigous awards a cadet can receive at the Academy. A cadet is selected for his leadership skills, academic success, character, integrity, community services, teamwork and espirit de corps.
Cadet Armstrong's outstanding performance combined with his academic achievements, while serving in the Corps of Cadets at Florida Air Academy, reflects great credit upon himself, his family, and his hometown community in Hamilton, Bermuda. Cadet Armstrong is the son of Ms Olivette Armstrong and brother of fellow Florida Air Academy student, Cadet Korey Armstrong.
