Phoenix to offer free asthma education
With a vision of raising awareness of asthma, The Phoenix Stores is going to offer free asthma education on World Asthma Day.
On Tuesday, nurses from Open Airways, an asthma education group, will be on hand at the Collector's Hill Apothecary and The Phoenix Store in Hamilton to answer questions and give advice to asthma sufferers.
Besides offering free advice Open Airways will be giving away 600 Able spacers, a device that helps deliver medication deep into the lungs - something Open Airways instructor Liz Boden said was needed as some asthma sufferers were not receiving their medication properly.
Ms Boden said: "Medications are safe and effective. However, so many simply can't use their inhaler properly and the medication never reaches their sensitive airways."
The asthma nurses will be at the Collector's Hill Apothecary from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and at The Phoenix Store in Hamilton from noon to 2 p.m.
