Richardson presents his best fashion collection yet
Crinkled and smooth silks and linens were some of the fabrics that made up this year?s Spiritwear Collection.
The Silk Metal 06 or ?Slip on the Metal? collection designed by Ricky Amethyst Richardson was simply gorgeous.
This was his first show in two years and featured both Dupion and shantung silks, coupled with an array of linens.
It was fluid, yet structured, and the metallic colour scheme had hues ranging from tanzanite greens to zinc lilacs.
Mr. Richardson truly outdid himself with this collection and the ooohs and ahhs coming from the audience were ever present with each new sighting.
This level of diversity was something missing from his last two collections and the crinkled linens and shantung silks just worked well in the setting sun.
His models were Torri Simmons, Joy Barnum, Kelly Hall, Veronica Vatman, Lee Wolffe, Tusha Stovell, Angel Simons, Anwar Wales, Manual Palacio, Gladine Douglas, Chrissy Ratteray, Shervonne Hollis and Joshua Nesbitt.
The models strutted their stuff to hints of beautiful music made by Bermuda natives Taylor Rankin, on his violin, and Onika Best aka Blak Kla Soyl, on the djembe. Mrs. Best now resides in Barbados.
The duo played a mixture of sounds and their instruments blended in a unison rarely experienced.
The ensembles were suitable for both the full figured and the slimmer woman and featured both palazzo pants and straight-legged trousers.
Some also had gathers or small pleats at the hem line offering a more tapered look.
These were worn with either an over dress or longer shirt which gave the outfits an Indian feel. A few of the tops also came in halters and sexy kimono styles.
The gold outfits were something rarely seen and some were almost box or square like over long flowing skirts.
These could certainly be worn by anyone big or small as they would hide many of the sins of over-eating!
The men?s line came in a range of colours and pushed the boat out on tradition, although even the more conservative male would also feel at home in them.
The ensembles ranged in a host of colours and had an all-round feel of beauty perfected.
