Shaken and stirred: National Galleryfundraiser has James Bond theme

?Bond ... James Bond? is the theme of the Bermuda National Gallery?s gala fundraiser.The event takes place on May 28 at 7 p.m. at the Red Barracks in St. George?s. The organisers are hinting that the action promises to be shaken and stirred.

Organisers have said there are a few remaining tickets available for the 007-themedparty of the year.

It will feature a casino, entertainment by the In Motion dancers and the Tony Bari Band, champagne and Bond martinis.

The silent auction includes a trip for two to London including a three-night stay at a corporate apartment, dinner at the Savoy Grill and passes for the London Eye, golf for four at all nine Bermuda golf courses, a diamond heart necklace from Astwood Dickinson, a gold, diamond and pearl octopus pendant from Walker Christopher, a weekend for two at 9 Beaches, weekend stays at Martha?s Vineyard, Massachusetts, or Old Field, Connecticut, and a catered cocktail party at the Aquarium?s North Rock exhibit.

Also, a raffle will feature a top prize of a Mediterranean cruise.

Tickets are $250 per person, including dinner and drinks, and are available from the BNG on 295-9428. Dress is ?Bond-esque? so come as your favourite Bond character or villain. Parking for the event is at Penno?s Wharf with free transport provided to Red Barracks.

All proceeds will go towards the development of the BNG?s education programmes and operating costs of Bermuda?s art museum, voted Bermuda?s Best Art Gallery in The Bermudian magazine?s Best of Bermuda Gold Awards.
