Someone to travel and shop with
Sherry Talbot is the only daughter of Marguerite Joyce Talbot, who celebrated her birthday earlier this week. She says the best memory of your mother is when you have travelled and shopped together and when you are chatting everyday about life.
Ms Talbot, who is also the daughter of the late Ross (Blackie) Talbot, is one of four children.
?My brothers are Melvyn, who lives in Canada with his three children. Clement who resides here, and Bryan who also stays in Canada and has two children,? she says.
Ms Talbot says she loves it when her mother bakes Johnny Bread. Her mother?s favourite saying is, ?Good things come to those that wait?.
Mrs. Talbot has inspired her daughter with her encouraging words on life.
?They have made me a stronger person,? she says.
?Mom brought us up to be very independent, to be able to stand on our own, but to always put immediate family first. To always remember your roots where you came from and how you got to were you are today. She was and is the glue that holds our family together.
?Mom instilled in us to help those that are not as fortunate and also to always remember to be thankful and appreciative of what we have, because there are many others that are less fortunate.
?She always said to try your best, that will be good enough.
?And Mom says blood is thicker than water, and mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, brothers and sisters are the closest family we will have. The ones we can count on all the time.?
