Something for everyone

Photo by Glenn TuckerSing and shop: Masterworks Christmas Boutique is set to get underway on Thursday morning and will continue during the carolling event at Camden tomorrow evening. Pictured are some pieces of costume jewellery, which will be on sale in the Rose Garden Gallery.

hree women have come together in aid of the Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art building fund with a Christmas Boutique.

Megan Boyle, Heather Brewer and Liz Richardson have each secretly wanted to have a shop and they will be holding their Christmas Boutique before, during and after A Magical Evening of Carolling at the Masterworks Foundation.

Ms Brewer, Ms Richardson and Ms Boyle all said it was a great way to indulge themselves and not have the responsibilities of actually owning a store.

?All three of us spend our summers in New England where we are exposed to interesting stores and friends who have their own cottage businesses creating exciting new items not generally carried in stores, even in the United States,? said Ms Richardson, who has a friend who makes all natural soaps and candles in her apartment in New York. ?Heather has friend in Rhode Island who is an at-home mom and while the children are napping makes adorable children?s hair accessories.

?Christmas Boutiques like this are very popular in the US and generally involve giving a percentage of the profits to a charitable cause.?

Ms Richardson is also an artist who hopes to have a show in the spring at Masterworks.

?The three of us love art and and are all great supporters of Masterworks,? said Ms Brewer.

?It is our vision that this will be an annual Christmas Boutique for Masterworks and will become an event that everyone in Bermuda will look forward to attending to seek out unique and special gifts.?

?Come early!? warned Ms Boyle.

?All goods are new to Bermuda and many items are not carried in stores anywhere,? she said.

?And because we do not have the overhead of a store we think you?ll be pleased with the prices. We have items that will appeal to everybody?s taste, whether modern or traditional.

?Lots of fun costume jewellery, belts and bags and unusual house wares.

?We have Roberta Freymann tops from NYC, silk wrap evening stoles from Palm Beach and fabulous men?s silk ties from a Virginia designer, Peter Blair, and lots more.

?We have a little something for everyone on your list!?
