Student singers show their range

No stranger to the stage herself, singer and voice teacher Marcelle Clamens is so proud of the achievements of her voice students that they are being presented in recital at City Hall theatre on June 26 in a programme entitled 'New Talent Explosion'.

Ranging in age from ten to 60, they will sing a wide range of music including excerpts from opera, Broadway, reggae, gospel and spirituals.

The programme will also include special performances by the gospel group Rejoice, as well as teachers of the Jackson School of Performing Arts, of whose faculty Mrs. Clamens is a member.

Producer of the recital is Tropical Express Entertainment, while sponsors are Belco and Stockton Reinsurance Ltd. Part proceeds will go towards the further development of new talent, which includes sending students abroad for additional training.

Tickets ($25) are available from the Christian Book Store, the Music Box and Pianos Plus.
