Trust supporters get stranded for charity

The Bermuda National Trust will today hold a special fundraising event offering an evening of dinner and dancing under the stars, a silent auction and a raffle.

Approximately 180 guests will ‘strand' themselves on the picturesque grounds of the Heron's Nest in Middle Road, Southampton, where, they will ‘discover' items scrounged around the Island by the Shipwrecked! Committee: Chair, Judy Gibbons, Co-Chair, Patsy Phillips, Fiona Chapman, Pam Dunkley, Gretta Lattal, Nancy Nichols, Maggie Riker, Nikki Riker, and Petra Spangenberger.

The silent auction will include a multitude of fabulous items, everything from original artwork, must-haves for the home and garden, party planning, to holiday travel packages. The raffle consists of 13 one-of-a kind crates, each tailored to a specific theme - barbecue accessories, travel essentials, gardening tools, and ingredients for the perfect picnic.

Heather Brewer, owner of Flowerworks, has been gathering decorations to transform the location into a castaway's paradise and the Bermuda Maritime Museum has provided nautical artefacts that are sure to enhance the atmosphere.

“We're really excited about the event,” says Mrs. Gibbons. “We wanted to have a casual summer party, and what could be more fun than being ‘Shipwrecked' with all your friends?
