Website launch party was summer highpoint
Talented DJs, tons of give-aways, great music and a fun atmosphere made the website launch party of www.barmuvinjam.com the best party of the summer so far.
This amazing party took place on Saturday night at The Prospect Recreation Complex. The party was created and organised by BMVJ Ltd and featured five DJs and the Chewstick Band.
The party was broken up into three separate parties ? the Scandalous Soca Room, the Heineken Green Synergy Room featuring DJ Mix Master Pauly and Chewstick outside on the patio.
This idea was brilliant because people like me who love Soca could wine all night to the sounds of Machel Montano, Allison Hinds and Destra Garcia. Those who wanted the Hip-Hop and Reggae feel could go in the Heineken Room.
And people who wanted a more relaxed vibe could sit out on the patio and groove with the Chewstick band. Along with DJ Mix Master Pauly, DJ Styles, Shock-N-Lust, D-Nice and The General were also on the turntables.
The best part of the party for me was the Scandalous Soca Room. The General played the best old and new tunes with all the Soca crazy people wining all night. As part of the many give-aways, partygoers received small flags of their country choice including Trinidad, Jamaican, Barbados, Antigua and of course Bermuda.
For those who are unfamiliar with Soca parties, the majority of the songs encourage people to jump and wave flags during certain parts. Partygoers saw dozens of flags waved all night.
Meanwhile, in the Heineken Room, the DJ would play a song and the music video was shown on the projector screen. This livened up the crowd a bit more as the hottest tunes were spun.
The Intrigue VIP room was filled with those more important people at the party. A security guard was waiting at the door to ensure that only those who were 'worthy' (or had a VIP pass) entered.
Intrigue was the main drink that was given to guests. The bartender mixed it with champagne or ginger beer creating a unique taste.
The Chewstick band on the patio offered a more relaxed vibe with live music for guests to groove to.
Jamaican Grill provided mouth watering food for those who got the munchies. Give-aways included flags, Barmuvinjam T-shirts, pens, Soca CDs and more.
The best thing about this party was the amount of fun everyone seemed to have. The great music allowed people to loosen up and just have a good time.
Another great thing was the lack of fights and violence. The Bermuda Police Service provided excellent security and ensured that everything ran smoothly.
The 12-member team of Barmuvinjam was successful in creating an incredible party that proved to be entertaining for everyone in attendance. I went in expecting to have fun and my expectations were met plus more.
I am looking forward to the next Bermuvinjam party "where mature people come to play". Great job guys!
