Spruce up your Bermuda Day float!
Planning to enter a float for the upcoming Bermuda Day Parade? Then you are invited to attend a special free Float Building Workshop at the weekend with students from California State Polytechnic University.
The Department of Community and Cultural Affairs is hosting the workshops at Building P4, on Ships Wharf Road, Southside, St. David's. Workshops will be held on today and tomorrow from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Float builders will be given tips on designing and constructing floats, determining how many flowers they need and how to apply them.
International Day of Families tomorrow
Health Minister Patrice Minors has asked Bermudians to be more compassionate towards families dealing with HIV and AIDS as the United Nations marks the International Day of Families tomorrow.
The Minister saluted the work being done by STAR, the only organisation on the Island that provides hands-on assistance and therapy for people with AIDS and their families.
Ms Minors said there were no activities planned to mark the day in Bermuda.
