BIFF goes to Cannes with a fundraiser
The Bermuda International Film Festival hopes to bring a touch of Mediterranean glamour to the Dinghy Club next month. As part of a fundraising effort for the their upcoming Tenth anniversary festival, BIFF will be hosting An Evening in Cannes — a champagne reception, Oscar quiz and silent auction.
The event — for which the dress is to be “Cannes Yachting Chic” (read: smart casual) — will be held at the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club on Saturday, March 3.
“The champagne and food will be first-class, and we have some great prizes to auction off to benefit the festival,” says event co-producer Marlee Robinson, who sits on BIFF’s management committee.
“We invite everyone who loves the film festival to come out and not only support us, but have a fun-filled evening as well. The quiz will also include some general knowledge questions and some questions about film generally — you certainly won’t need to be a scholar on the Oscars to win!”
Attendees will be seated at tables of eight, with each table forming a team for the Oscar Quiz. Tickets for a table of eight may also be reserved.
Tickets, $150 per person, are available now and can be reserved by contacting the BIFF office at 293-3456 or info[AT]biff.bm. For those unable to attend, a list of silent auction prizes is available from BIFF, and bids may be made by non-attendees.
