Bloomingdale's department is coming to Bermuda this weekend for a major photo shoot.

The Island has been selected by the upscale store to shoot its 2008 Father's Day catalogue which will also feature a Bermuda Sweepstakes offer.

Bloomingdale's, 'Like No Other Store In The World' will feature Bermuda, 'Another World' in the spring 50-page catalogue which will be received by 400,000 customers across America and will reach all of the Island's gateway cities.

The Bermuda Department of Tourism and The Fairmont Southampton Hotel have generously supported the project which was conceived by Patricia Pettit, principal in the on-island marketing consultancy Pembroke Atlantic Ltd.

"I approached Bloomingdale's with the idea of coming here and once they expressed interest have been working with them to meet their creative & promotional needs." Ms Pettit said The Father's Day catalogue shoot is a result of that collaboration.

"But only with the enthusiastic support of the Department of Tourism and The Fairmont Southampton Hotel did the idea become a reality," she said.

"It is partnership marketing at its best and gives the island invaluable exposure."

In conjunction with the local shoot, a Bermuda Sweepstakes will be conducted in all of Bloomingdale's 40 stores with the Department of Tourism and The Fairmont Southampton Hotel donating the prize of an elegant inclusive three-night getaway for two.

"We are pleased to be a part of this creative promotion. It's an ideal opportunity to gain tremendous exposure for Bermuda Tourism and the Fairmont Southampton", said Norman Mastalir, Managing Director Fairmont Hotels.

"We look forward to seeing the Bloomingdale's catalogue and are happy to join with them in this promotional initiative," said Ian MacIntyre, acting Director of Bermuda Department of Tourism.

"With stores in all of our gateway cities, past and future visitors will have a glimpse of our beautiful island in these pages." The crew is expected to stay four days and shoot in a variety of locations.
