Curb Your Enthusiasm set to return

Q: Is there going to be another season of Curb Your Enthusiasm? It's my favourite show. ¿ S.D.

A: Apparently, yes. Series creator and star Larry David is always coy about whether he'll do another season when one ends. But co-star Susie Essman divulged that she auctioned a walk-on role in the show's next season at comedy Central's recent Night of Too Many Stars benefit, so it must be coming back.

Q: Is it true that Michael Jackson is finally working on a new album? ¿ J.O.

A: It is. Despite the fact that his personal life, not his musical achievements, has taken centre stage in recent years, Jackson is finally working on some new music. Will.i.am, of the Black Eyed Peas, is producing, and Kanye West joins Jackson on one of the tracks.

Q: I've seen several recent pictures of actress Nicole Kidman, and she barely looks pregnant. Is something wrong? ¿ J.R.

A: Apparently Kidman has been suffering from intense morning sickness and has had trouble keeping food down. Hopefully that will pass soon. Otherwise, there seems to be no problems.

Q: I read that they are doing a remake of the movie Barbarella. Who's playing the Jane Fonda part? ¿ H.F.

A: Rose McGowan will be directed by her boyfriend Robert Rodriguez, who directed her in last year's Grindhouse.

Q: What is actress Debra Messing (pictured) doing now? ¿ A.S.

A: She co-stars opposite Meg Ryan, Annette Bening, Eva Mendes, Candice Bergen and other famous women in the remake of the classic The Women, due out in October, and in the comedy-drama Humboldt Park, with John Leguizamo, due out in November.

Q: What happened to Rob Corddry, who was so funny on The Daily Show? ¿ N.K.

A: He left the comedy show for an ill-fated series of his own, The Winner, which ran for six episodes on Fox. But he's done better in movies: He's in the current Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantánamo Bay, and he co-stars in the upcoming comedies Patriotville, What Happens in Vegas . . . with Cameron Diaz, and Lower Learning, with Eva Longoria Parker. He then steps into the drama W., about George W. Bush; he's portraying White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer.

Q: I miss Maya Rudolph on Saturday Night Live. What is she doing now, and is she ever coming back to the show? ¿ J.R.

A: It's not likely that she'll come back, but you never know. Her next project is a film, as yet untitled, about a couple travelling around the US to find a place to start a family. The director is Sam Mendes, the Oscar winner behind American Beauty, and her co-stars are John Krasinski, Cheryl Hines and Toni Collette.

Q: I thought Barack Obama was going to do an interview on ESPN. I was looking forward to it. What happened? ¿ K.S.

A: He was too, apparently, as a big basketball fan and a player. ESPN suddenly cancelled without giving a reason. Some have noted that the network's president has contributed to the campaign of presumptive Republican candidate John McCain, but network reps deny that this was the cause, and say that when the race is down to two candidates, they'll revisit the interview question.

Q: Is is true that Oprah is going to become a cast member of 30 Rock? ¿ N.G.

A: No, the queen of all media would never have time to run her empire if she joined another TV show besides her own. She did, however, say she is open to the idea of a guest appearance on the show after Tina Fey said she'd love to have her on in the role of her best friend. If the details can be worked out, she'll be on.

Q: I just saw Gone Baby Gone and thought actor Casey Affleck was fantastic. What will he be in next? ¿ K.L.

A: He's scheduled to start production on The Kind One, a dark drama set in 1930s Los Angeles about an amnesiac who goes to work for a mobster.
