Richard Dreyfuss and Carrie Fisher to co-chair BIFF jury

Oscar winner Richard Dreyfuss and acclaimed actress Carrie Fisher will co-chair the jury at the 2007 Bermuda International Film Festival, which takes place from March 16-24.

The festival jury is charged with the duty of deciding the winning films in three categories: Mary-Jean Mitchell Green Award for Best Narrative Feature, Best Documentary, and the M3 Wireless Bermuda Shorts Award.

Fisher and Mr. Dreyfuss will be joined on the jury by documentary filmmaker Stanley Nelson, actor Ben Newmark, film festival director Tamara Tarasova, short filmmaker Vito Rocco and Bermudian filmmaker Lucinda Spurling.

Richard Dreyfuss has appeared in more than 40 feature films, including The Graduate, American Graffiti, , Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, The Goodbye Girl, Whose Life is it Anyway?, Down and Out in Beverly Hills, Stand By Me, Tin Men, Stakeout, Moon Over Parador, The American President and Mr. Holland’s Opus.

Carrie Fisher is best known for her role as Princess Leia in the box office sensation Star Wars and the smash hit sequels The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, but has performed in a host of other movies including Hannah and Her Sisters and When Harry Met Sally.

Tickets to BIFF 2007 are available now from the festival web site, or from the box office at No. 6 Passenger Terminal, Front Street, Hamilton. The box office is open daily, except Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
