Bean dedicates new album to her husband
Judyann Bean's newest album is dedicated to her husband, Wayne, and the title track says it all.
'Anything for your Love' is one of two slow, romantic ballads on what the singer describes as "essentially a disco dance album for the young people", but the message is clear.
"My wonderful husband ... has consistently shown his support and respect as I pursue my endeavours. I am blessed to have a partner and husband like him," Mrs. Bean says in her album notes.
The other is 'Forever All That I am', which she describes as "a very pretty love ballad".
'Thinking about you, Baby' is also about love, but the tempo is upbeat.
All of the songs on the ten-track album are originals, nine of them written by Mrs. Bean, and one ¿ 'The Blame Game' ¿ co-written with VSB DJ Alberta May Soares.
"It talks about how people always blame their mother, father, granddad for their mistakes, but the theme is, 'blame yourself'," Mrs. Bean says.
Two songs are dedicated to Bermuda: 'Pump It Up' and 'Happy New Year, Bermuda'.
The former Mrs. Bean describes as "a happy disco song", while the latter is "not too fast, not too slow, very uplifting and really nice".
'God you are my Light' was written for the singer's grandson, Neriah, and is a gospel-style disco rap, while 'Everything You Are' is disco gospel, and thanks God for everything He has done for her.
'Shake Your Booty' is a catchy calypso rap.
It took six months for Mrs. Bean to complete the album, which is her fourth, and motivation came through wanting to do something for her husband.
The devoted couple are the parents of eight children, two of whom in particular, Sierra and Destinie, have encouraged their mother in her endeavours, and continue to be her strongest critics.
Like its predecessors, the album was produced in New York by Frank Owens, with lead singers Ty Stevens and Jennifer McDonald and rapper D.Cross ¿ all of them from New York ¿ contributing to several tracks.
