Concert tonight at St. John's
‘Music to comfort and console’ is the theme of tonight’s concert by the Bermuda Chamber Choir at St. John’s Church in Pembroke.
Directed by Ryan Ellis, the 50-minute programme will feature works by Mozart, Telemann, Elgar, Brahms, and Rheinberger, and feature J.S. Bach’s Motet III, ‘Jesu, meine Freunde’ featuring Ruth Stovall and Gillian Henderson (sopranos), Jimmy Lee Brown (countertenor/baritone) and Peter Nash (bass).
Mr. Nash will also be the soloist in Bach’s Cantata 82, ‘Ich habe genung’.
In all 35 singers and 11 string instrumentalists are combining to present the Spring concert, which begins at 7.30 p.m. Orchestra members include faculty from the Bermuda School of Music and the Menuhin Foundation members, as well as a senior student.
