NEW YORK (AP) — Eddie Murphy and former Spice Girl Melanie Brown may have dated earlier this year, but the actor-comedian is making it clear that he’s not sure if he’s the father of her unborn child.Murphy, who stars in the upcoming Dreamgirls film, was recently asked if he was excited that Brown — known as Scary Spice when she was in the megahit group of the ‘90s — was pregnant. She has been photographed recently with an expanding belly.

“So are you happy with her because she’s pregnant with your child?” asks the TV interviewer, apparently referring to Brown.

“Now you’re being presumptuous because we’re not together anymore,” Murphy replies. “And I don’t know whose child that is until it comes out and has a blood test. You shouldn’t jump to conclusions, sir.”

A clip of the interview was posted Tuesday on the TMZ.com Web site.

Arnold Robinson, a spokesman for Murphy, told The Associated Press he doesn’t comment on Murphy’s personal life.

The AP was attempting Tuesday to find a representative for Brown.

Murphy, 45, escorted film producer Tracey Edmonds to the premiere of Dreamgirls in New York on Monday night. When asked by AP Television News if Edmonds is his “new lady,” he smiled and replied, “Yeah.”

People magazine, on its Web site Tuesday, quoted Edmonds, the ex-wife of singer Kenneth (Babyface) Edmonds, as saying she’s been dating Murphy “for about a month and a half.”

Murphy’s wife, Nicole, filed for divorce last year, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple were married in 1993 and have five children together.LOS ANGELES (AP) — Comedian Andy K. The 40-year-old actor-comedian issued an apology through his publicist.

“I chose to make a joke about a subject that is not funny,” said the statement, which was provided to the Los Angeles Times.

“In an attempt to make light of a serious subject, I have offended a lot of people, and I am sorry for my insensitivity. I wish to apologise to Ian, to the club and its patrons and to anyone who was hurt or offended by my remark.”

According to TMZ, Dick had been heckling Bagg from the audience and then joined him onstage, when the two discussed Richards.

When Dick exited the stage, he suddenly grabbed the microphone and shouted at the crowd: “You’re all a bunch of n****!”

An Improv manager wouldn’t comment about the incident when reached by the newspaper.

Richards, who played the wacky neighbour Kramer on Seinfeld, has been on a campaign of contrition since videotaped footage of his outburst at the Laugh Factory on November 17 surfaced on TMZ.

Richards has said the tirade was fuelled by anger at being heckled and not bigotry.

He plans to meet with the four black patrons who were the targets of his remarks to apologise in person.ROME (AP) — The wedding between Italian actress Gina Lollobrigida and her longtime Spanish boyfriend has been called off, news reports in Italy and Spain said Wednesday.Lollobrigida, 79, had been scheduled to marry Javier Rigau y Rafols, 45, of Barcelona, Spain, on January 27 in Rome. The couple, who met at a party in Monte Carlo, Monaco, had been dating for 22 years.

“Javier is desperate. Ever since we have announced this wedding, he has been tormented with lies and slander,” Lollobrigida was quoted as saying by the ANSA news agency.

“He can’t take it anymore,” Lollobrigida was quoted as saying. “For now there is no wedding and that’s it.”

Lollobrigida, who was travelling in the United States, couldn’t be reached for comment. It would have been her second marriage.

The wedding between Lollobrigida, once dubbed “the most beautiful woman in the world” after the title of one of her movies, and a man 34 years her junior had attracted the attention of gossip magazines and some TV shows in Spain and Italy.

In a statement sent through the office of his lawyer Javier Saavedra, Rigau said he “will always love and respect” Lollobrigida, Spain’s Hola magazine reported.

Rigau denounced what he said was “constant,” “unfounded” and “unlawful” media interference in his private life, and said he planned legal action, according to Hola. His lawyers in Spain were unavailable for comment Wednesday, a national holiday.

Lollobrigida also said she planned legal action against media outlets in both countries, without specifying what action that might be, ANSA reported.

The couple were set to wed in New York last month, but moved the wedding to January in Rome.

Lollobrigida began making movies in Italy just after the end of World War II. Her screen credits include “The World’s Most Beautiful Woman,” “Come September,” “Trapeze,” “Bread, Love and Dreams” and “Never So Few.”

In recent years, she has returned to art, first with photography and then with sculpture.NEW DELHI (AP) — George Clooney<$> says he’d like to appear in one of India’s spectacular song-and-dance movies.“I’d love to. There are some filmmakers whose films when you see (them) you say, ‘That could be an interesting story to tell’,” the 45-year-old actor said in an interview Thursday on the private CNN-IBN channel.

Clooney said he’s a fan of Bollywood, India’s prolific Hindi film industry, and is impressed by the way it has expanded.

“I was watching a film the other day and the music was just amazing. It’s become such a huge industry,” he said.

“There is a small market in the (United) States as of now, but it will be fun if it catches on because it is such a positive way of looking at filmmaking and I really love that. I truly think it’s fun,” he said.

Clooney, a favourite among India’s English-speaking middle and upper classes, won a best supporting actor Oscar for 2005’s Syriana.

“It seems like the Indian filmmakers are pushing boundaries in terms of pushing the censors. I think it’s (Bollywood) an interesting place for filmmakers to go,” he said.

Clooney’s upcoming movie, The Good German, will be released by Warner Bros. in the United States later this month. It will be released in India next year.
