In addition to the 85 films from 32 countries which will be shown over the course of the tenth annual Bermuda International Film Festival are a slew of social events intended to enhance the festival experience for all involved.

BIFF's social side will kick off on Friday night when Volcanic Productions blows the doors open with the BIFF Launch Party.

Musical entertainment will include Bermuda's most eclectic DJ — Jon Legere — warming it up with indie rock and dance beats.

He will be followed by Montreal urban legend — Andy Williams — known for his Jazz fusion, Afro-beats and funk. The party goes from 9 p.m. till 1 a.m. in BIFF's Front Room at # 6 Passenger Terminal, Front Street.

Tickets are $25 and include four free drinks and catered food.

They can be purchased online at www.biff.bm or from the festival box office at the Front Room. The box office is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

"This has to be the best Friday night deal out there," Mr. Legere said. "Plus, party goers can meet and greet with BIFF's festival guests. We are expecting a sellout."

On Sunday, meet the visiting filmmakers, jury and other festival guests at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess/BIFF barbecue. The event goes from 12.30-3.30 p.m. with a special BIFF BBQ menu, and a cash bar offering happy hour prices.

And finally, the highly-anticipated annual Wrap Party will take place Saturday, March 24 at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel. Filmmakers and industry visitors let their hair down, along with the volunteers who help us present the festival.

Award presentations will be made at the Wrap, so join in the fun for a long night of delicious food, and brilliant music.

Tickets are $75 in advance, and available at the BIFF Front Room box office or online at www.biff.bm. And if that's not enough socialising for you, the BIFF Late Nites also offer an opportunity to mingle with visiting filmmakers, jury, international press and film industry professionals. Late Nites are the place to be from 8 p.m. until the wee hours of the morning during the festival. The first will be held on Saturday at Robin Hood, followed by:

[bul] Sunday — Heritage Court, Fairmont Hamilton Princess

[bul] Monday — Fresco's Wine Bar, Hamilton

[bul] Wednesday — Café Cairo, Hamilton

[bul] Thursday — Waterloo House, Hamilton

The festival is also offering a special Dinearound card over festival week. The card offers a ten percent discount on meals at participating restaurants. Simply present the card, which sells for $5 at the BIFF box office, to receive your discount.
