As a way of both providing something extra to do and to bring Bermuda’s talent to the fore, Nadanja Bailey is hosting a Talent Extravaganza.

The three-day event is set to go off on Friday evening and the last show will take place on Sunday at City Hall Theatre.

The comedian said his reasons for holding the Talent Extravaganza were two-fold.

“We have so much talent in Bermuda, and there is not enough going on to keep the people on the Island entertained,” explained Mr. Bailey. “Every week its the same old thing, happy hour, movies, whatever.

“Well this weekend it’s not the same old thing, it’s a show were Bermudians can showcase their talents and hopefully win some great prizes if selected.”

He would like the event to become an annual affair on the Island’s entertainment calendar.

“The first show is always a test run and if it proves to be successful then, it will be every year,” he said.

“I had one parent call me and ask me not to wait too long to do another one because her son waited till the last minute to get his act together.”

The shows will feature 15 acts per night. Mr. Bailey, of The Two Fools, said: “With the No Talent show, which is on Sunday, it is for adults only, but this show is not for adults with no talent.

“This is for adults with talent, but other people don’t know about it.

“Here is your time to shine and there are a few spaces left in this category.”

He encouraged the public to come out in support of local talent. “If you have nothing to do this weekend, tell a friend and come on out to the City Hall Theatre for a weekend of entertainment, all you have to do is pick a night — or, come to all three.”

Tickets are $15 for Friday, $20 for Saturday and $25 for Sunday. They are on sale at The Edge in the Washington Mall. Shows begin at 8 p.m. sharp.
