A Bermudian resort boss has been named the Premier Hotelier of the Year 2006 at the 12th International Caribbean World Travel Awards.

John Jefferis, owner of Coco Reefs Resort, was presented with his gong at a ceremony at the Four Seasons Hotel in London.

He said: "This award is a tribute to our wonderful staff and our highly motivated and professional management team."

His Paget hotel has recorded occupancy of more than 90 percent since March.
