K-Kids get into Kiwanis Week
Kiwanis Clubs around the world recently observed the 92nd anniversary of the organisation and the junior members from East End Primary School [officially known as "K-Kids"] played their part. Even though it was a school-day, a group of them got out of bed a bit earlier than usual and did their best to raise a smile from motorists going into and out of St George's.
This intrepid group of youngsters — accompanied by a few of their seniors — took up their post on the roundabout located next to Swing Bridge, giving them the chance for visual contact with all the traffic heading into and out of the East End. Since it was a school day they were unable to stay at the post for too long, as they had to leave to be on time for classes.
The K-Kids are part of the Kiwanis family, and the membership comprises students at primary schools.
The worldwide service club family has different divisions for primary, middle and secondary schools, as well as for colleges and universities. There are three K-Kid Clubs in Bermuda — at East End Primary, St George's Preparatory and St. David's Primary — all sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of St George's.
Kiwanis is a global organisation of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time.
