Georgia Rule

Lindsay Lohan's a rebellious teen who's constantly in trouble in this critical and commercial flop that's a fictionalised narrative, not a documentary of the actress' real-life crises. Lohan stars as a misbehaving daughter whose mom (Felicity Huffman) packs her off to spend the summer with grandma (Jane Fonda), a no-nonsense woman ruling her homestead with a stern hand.

The DVD has deleted scenes with commentary from director Garry Marshall, who also provides commentary for the full movie. The disc also has a making-of featurette and segments on Marshall and the three lead actresses.

Delta Farce

Three buddies (Larry the Cable Guy, Bill Engvall and DJ Qualls) head out for a weekend of boozing and shooting, only to be mistaken for Army Reservists and packed onto a military plane bound for Iraq. After they're accidentally ejected over Mexico, the three believe they've made it to Iraq and wind up in a battle with a local crime boss laying siege to a village.

The DVD and Blu-ray high-definition releases each have a handful of behind-the-scenes featurettes, including one on co-star Danny Trejo, plus commentary from director CB Harding. The Blu-ray disc also has deleted scenes, a gag reel and an additional featurette.

The Wind That Shakes the Barley

It's brother against brother in this drama starring Cillian Murphy as a young medical student caught up in Irish rebels' fight for freedom from British oppression in the early 20th century. Abandoning his studies, Murphy's character joins his brother in the battle that leads to a treaty, the siblings later finding themselves on opposite sides of the Irish civil war that followed.

The film by British director Ken Loach won the top prize at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival. The DVD has a documentary segment on Loach and the social consciousness that underlies his films, plus commentary with the director and the film's historical adviser.

Stranger Than Paradise–Night on Earth

Jim Jarmusch's acclaimed 1984 film "Stranger Than Paradise" gets fresh DVD treatment in a two-disc set, while his 1991 tale "Night on Earth" makes its DVD debut in a single-disc release.

"Stranger Than Paradise" follows the meandering relationship and road-trip ramble of two buddies (John Lurie and Richard Edson) and a visiting cousin (Eszter Balint). DVD extras include Jarmusch's 1980 feature debut, "Permanent Vacation," along with behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with the cast and crew.

"Night on Earth" features Winona Ryder, Gena Rowlands, Roberto Benigni, Rosie Perez and Armin Mueller-Stahl in a collection of short comic dramas that take place during five cab rides happening at the same time around the globe. The DVD has a Q&A and interview with Jarmusch, plus commentary with his director of photography and sound mixer.

TV on DVD:

"30 Rock: Season 1" — "Saturday Night Live" veteran Tina Fey draws on her experiences there for this acclaimed series set at a sketch-comedy show in New York. Fey plays the show's head writer, coping with a meddlesome network executive (Alec Baldwin) and a fickle new cast member (Tracy Morgan). The three-disc set has the first 21 episodes, plus deleted scenes and commentary with the cast.

"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Seasons 1 & 2" — Four self-obsessed friends and bar owners deal irreverently with modern life while perpetually hatching their own schemes. The cast includes Danny DeVito, who joined the show in season two. The first 17 episodes come in a three-disc set, with cast and crew commentary, outtakes and featurettes.

"Rules of Engagement: The Complete First Season" — David Spade and Patrick Warburton are among the cast of this sit-com centered on a veteran married couple, their newly engaged friends and a confirmed bachelor. The DVD has the first seven episodes.

"Desperate Housewives: The Complete Third Season" — Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Eva Longoria, Marcia Cross and Nicollette Sheridan return for more romantic shenanigans. Year three's 23 episodes come in a six-disc set, along with deleted scenes and a making-of segment on the season finale.

"The Office: Season Three" — Steve Carell is back as the boss with his foot in his mouth in the comedy set among the bored employees at the Scranton, Pa., branch of a mid-sized paper company. The third season's 22 episodes are packed in a four-disc set, whose extras include a huge collection of deleted scenes.

"Nip/Tuck: The Complete Fourth Season" — Dylan Walsh and Julian McMahon star as plastic surgeons whose patients include a ventriloquist who wants his dummy's face, a phone-sex operator looking for a voice tuneup and a widow who wants her hubby's ashes placed in her breast implants. Year four's 15 episodes come in a five-disc DVD set or four-disc Blu-ray and HD DVD sets.

"Prison Break: Season 2" — Two brothers (Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell) and a group of fellow prison escapees are pursued by a dogged FBI man (William Fichtner). A six-disc set has the second season's 22 episodes, accompanied by commentary and featurettes.

"Bosom Buddies: The Second Season" — Tom Hanks and Peter Scolari resume their cross-dressing ways in the early 1980s sit-com about two men masquerading as women to live at an all-female hotel. All 18 episodes from the second and final season come in a three-disc set.
