New online opportunity for BIFF filmgoers
Filmgoers at the 11th Bermuda International Film Festival will have a new online opportunity to reflect on, judge and discuss the films — often with the filmmakers — as BIFF has teamed up with B-Side Entertainment to beef up its online offerings.
B-Side Entertainment, a film distribution and marketing company based in Austin, Texas, is putting together the online programme guide available at www.biff.bm with content provided by BIFF.
Visitors to the site who register with B-Side will be available to build and share their personal festival week calendar, and save it for later visits to the website.
Filmgoers will also be able to rate the films on a one to five star basis, view film ratings made by other filmgoers and interact online with festival filmmakers. The B-Side programme guide allows filmmakers to post additional content beyond the standard photo, synopsis, filmmaker bio and credits. Filmmakers may post additional photos, trailers, even set up a blog to interact with filmgoers.
Visitors to the B-Side web site at www.bside.com can purchase dvds of hot independent films, and review content including sections on Things You Should Know, Films You Should See, and What's on the Festival Circuit.
Launched in 2005, B-Side set up the programme guide for one festival that year, for 17 festivals in 2006 and for more than 100 festivals in 2007.
MovieMaker magazine named B-Side as one of the "Top Independent Film-Friendly Businesses" in a recent article.
