<Bz33>Nominees sought for health award
The Department of Health is looking to award a local business or organisation with its Public Health Award. But first it is appealing to members of the public to submit nominees.
The award recognises a local entity that has made a difference in public health, relevant to the theme 'International Health Security: Invest in Health, Build a Safer Future'.
That theme represents the mission behind World Health Day on April 7 which is also the day the award will be presented.
Nominations must be in by March 31.
A Health spokesperson said: "Emerging epidemics threaten our collective security when they cross national borders and sudden shocks to health and economies from infectious diseases, emerging threats, natural disasters and environmental changes requires a collective effort and effective responses to avert new and existing threats.
"I Bermuda the security of Bermuda's health is protected by individuals and organisations who work to ensure we are adequately prepared and able to recover as a community."
If you know anyone of any agency that has gone over and beyond the call of duty to protect Bermuda's Health Security you can get more details from healthpromotion@gov.bm or 278-6504.
