Rod Mackenzie returns to Folk Club
Former 1980s entertainer and Folk Club member Rod Mackenzie is returning to the Club for one performance only on September 8. The venue is the Spanish Point Boat Club, and the starting time is 8 p.m. Opening the programme will be a group of talented local artists. Princeton Tigertones coming to City Hall
Earmark September 5 for a special lunchtime performance at the Bermuda National Gallery by Princeton University's all-male a capella singers, the Tigertones. Admission is free for members, $5 for others. Since the students will be "singing for their supper", donations will be requested. Showtime is 12.30 p.m. to 1.15 p.m.
BNG to host Jamaican writer's poetry reading
Prize-winning Jamaican writer Olive Senior will read poetry at the Bermuda National Gallery on September 6, beginning at 6 p.m. Ms Senior has written several books and short stories, and is a Commonwealth Writers Prize winner. Audio visual show on Bermuda's development at BUEI
Ann Smith Gordon will present her audio visual show tracing Bermuda's development through the centuries in the Tradewinds auditorium of the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute on September 19 at 7 p.m.
The journey will begin with the discovery of Bermuda, and the story of the wreck of the Sea Venture wreck, which directly led to Bermuda being colonised by the British in 1612. Fortifications, church buildings, agriculture and architecture are included, as are nostalgic glimpses of Front Street in 1890, the early tourists, train and rowboat ferry, museums, points of interest, sunsets, Royal visitors and much, much more.

New Education/Programming director for BNG
Lisa Howie is the new Education and Programme Director at the Bermuda National Gallery. She holds a Master's degree in Education, and until recently was Head of English at the Bermuda High School for Girls.
Ms Howie is a poet and writer, and has always incorporated art history and the visual arts into her teaching of language arts.
