Tammy Marlena Trott recently received a PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Liverpool in the UK. Dr. Trott was awarded her degree at the University's commencement exercises on July 2.
Attending the graduation from Bermuda were her husband, Roger, son, Shayne and parents, Cranston and Marlene Warren.
Dr. Trott, a Marine Resource Officer with the Department of Environmental Protection, undertook a research study on the age, growth and reproductive biology of the coney and defended her dissertation in November, 2006. Her local advisor was Dr. Brian Luckhurst, former Senior Marine Resources Officer.
Dr. Trott was educated at Newbold Primary School in Binfield, England and at the Bermuda Institute of Seventh-day Adventists from which she graduated with honours in 1987. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Michigan in 1991.
She thanked the Ministry of Environment staff and local fishermen who cooperated with her study.
