Schools art show starts
Vivid colours, papier-mâché and clay masterpieces will adorn the walls at the 2008 Bermuda Annual Schools' Art Show.
The show, which runs for three weeks, takes place at the Bermuda Society of Arts, in City Hall.
The show, which is celebrating its 43rd anniversary kicks off another symphony of creative splendour.
Bermuda Society of Arts director Victoria Evans-Cracknell said that the Island's 25 public schools and six private schools will take part in the show.
"They collectively represent the artistic achievements of children from five to 18 years of age," she said.
But attending the show is not all; guests are invited to take part in the People's Choice Awards.
"It is an interactive component of the Schools Art Show," she said. "It encourages the public to vote for their favourite piece of artwork. Stop by and cast your vote."
The opening ceremonies take place on February 4, from 5.30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Children and their families are invited to attend.
The Bermuda Schools Art Exhibition runs from February 4 until February 20.
Gallery hours are Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For additional details, please call 292-3824.
