Spooky events brewing at Fort Hamilton

Hallowe'en is upon us once again and, following the last two years of success, Volcanic Productions will be hosting another fantastic weekend of activities at Fort Hamilton.

The frightening fun began last night for children in the Haunted Playground and continues this evening.

Volcanic organiser Jon Legere said: "The Haunted Playground will entertain children with a spectacular Haunted House filled with monsters, ghouls, ghosts and treats.

"Above ground will be the usual Halloween festivities including apple bobbing, fun castle, a ducking stool and refreshments."

He added that the adults can enjoy a glass of wine while the young ones race around the fort.

The recommended age for the youngsters attending this event is five to 12 years old.

Admission is $10 and gates open at 6 p.m. All proceeds from The Haunted Playground go to The National Trust.

On Saturday night, Volcanic is also hosting the legendary Fright Night for adults. "The Haunted House gets a facelift and the ratings turned up a few notches," explained Mr. Legere.

"Darkness sets in and over 30 volunteers dress up to scare party-goers in the dungeons below. Artists collaborate on fire-breathing sculptures and the 200-year-old fort becomes quite the dwelling for the undead.

"It's the way Halloween should be celebrated."

The tour ends at 11 p.m. so be sure to get to the Fort with enough time to enjoy this major event.

The dance party kicks in with the debut of "Flight Line" a new six piece Bermudian band. "Vinyl Life" hailing from New York City will also perform along with several international DJ's playing everything from dance, funk and Oldskool 80s.

"Last year the Brooklyn DJ who dressed up as Johnny Barnes will be returning – The Butcha," said Mr. Legere. Tickets are $40 and gates open at 8 p.m.

Tickets for both events are available at Frameworks Gallery and The Jackson School of Performing Arts.

No tickets will be sold at the door.
