In keeping with the sprit of the season, the school also held a holiday-themed Grub Day with students and staff participating in exchange for bringing in nonperishable food for the Salvation Army to distribute to the needy over the holidays.

Earlier, Saltus Secondary Department students had decorated four trees for the annual House Tree Decorating Competition.

The School's Olympic Star Campaign purchased the trees and donated them to the Salvation Army for families which would have otherwise gone without.

In addition, SGY students sold personalised decorations for their tree, raising $64 for the Sunshine League.

Also, during Life Skills, S7 students raised over $300 and purchased a number of gifts to make Christmas brighter for the young people at the Sunshine League.

Upper and lower Primary students brought in loads of gifts for Coldwell Banker's "Toys for Tots" programme.

Lower Primary staff contributed over $200 at Christmas to the "Fight for Life Foundation" established in memory of former Saltus student Lori Mello.

Earlier in December, upper Primary students collected $922 in the "Donate a Dollar for the Red Cross Bangladesh Cyclone Appeal".
