two events are planned to mark the celebration -- both on October 24.

First, members will attend a special reception at the gallery from 5.30 p.m.

to 7.30 p.m., where they will enjoy an elegant display of Japanese floral arrangements created by the Sogetsu Teachers Association of Bermuda to complement the current show, Mixed Media. Later that evening, they will attend a gala fund-raiser at "Aberfeldy,'' the Somerset home of gallery board chairman, Mr. Christopher Astwood, and Mrs. Astwood. Mr. Astwood has been a supporter of the Arts Centre from inception. Entitled Fiesta Cubana, this event will feature music and food with a Latin flavour.

Guests will sip Cuban cocktails supplied by Bacardi Rum in association with Burrows, Lightbourn, and the dinner menu will include such specialties as Arrotz Frito Especial, with sweet banana and chicken kebabs, Cuban beans, and grilled Cuban sandwiches.

The local band Legacy will play music with a Latin flair.

Entertainment will include tombola, with prizes donated by local businesses, and a small auction of paintings by Jonah Jones, Mark Emmerson, Lynn Morrel, Helen Daniel, Chris Marson, Antoine Hunt and Maria Smith.

In addition to the support of local merchants, Fiesta Cubana is being partially sponsored by Colonial Life. A special travel prize has also been donated by Meyer Travel.
