Bermuda rapper to sign on with Florida record co.
is hoping to change that.
Any day now, Showers expects to be signing a contract with O-Town Records in Orlando, Florida.
"I chose rap music because it allows me to pick up any topic and put across my opinion on it in an entertaining way,'' Mr. Showers said.
He added, "I won't be doing to much locally for a while because I will be developing my stage image and working on an album package titled "Class Time''.
Most of the songs Mr. Showers is working contain a message about issues concerning young adults.
"Right now I want to let people know that I'm out there so that they will be more receptive to my music when it is released.'' Mr. Showers began rapping last year after entering the Teen Services Talent Show when he was in a group titled "Ordinary Gentlemen''.
Now that the group has broken up and Mr. Showers has gone solo he said, "It's much simpler being on my own because I am able to get want I want in the music.'' When asked what he wanted to achieve from being a rapper, he said, "I'd like to reach a level of success with rap music so it can help re-establish Bermuda's music industry for my generation.'' Mr. Showers is also in the process of finishing a music video for Al and Chrif's Original Video Show (ZBM).
