The Blair Witch Project has hit the Island and after two showings at the Little Theatre manager Michael Johnson revealed that his cinema came through it all unscathed.
The first-time independent film, which has raked in $80 million since its release last month, has such jerky hand-held footage that viewers have been throwing up.
At the Kendall Square Cinema in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the cleanups became so frequent that the assistant manager reported she now makes announcements informing moviegoers to leave the cinema if they feel nauseated.
Locally, Mr. Johnson said he has seen the film twice and can understand how someone might begin to feel a bit of motion sickness. But after two screenings the theatre has not seen anyone throw up. The film follows three student filmmakers as they venture into the woods to track a legendary witch. Although it is not considered bloody, the cameras are in constant motion as the characters prance through the woods.
