And its main researcher, Mr. Dale Butler, yesterday said he expected it to go on sale the same month as the movement's 50th anniversary, May 1994.

Historian Mr. Colin Benbow is the main writer of the book to be titled "Gladys Morrell and the Women's Suffrage Movement''.

Mr. Butler said he chose Mr. Benbow to work on the project with him because Mr. Benbow taught him at the Bermuda College and had a wealth of experience in writing.

"We've been working on it (the book) for about a month,'' Mr. Butler said.

"I'm very pleased with Colin's work.'' Mr. Butler wrote Gladys Morrell's original biography for schools in 1976. And he said it was always his intention to write about the movement.

He first planned to produce a pamphlet.

But he said after learning that two other groups were planning major events to mark the 50th anniversary of the women's suffrage movement and after gathering extensive information on the subject from various sources including some suffragettes' children, he decided that this warranted a book.

The book will be in hard-back form and will appeal to schools and the general public.
