CADA bringing in specialist to help with latest project
Addressing the local alcohol problem, the Council on Alcohol & Drug Abuse (CADA) are bringing in a specialist to help get their latest project up to speed.
Paula Stanghetta, recognised internationally as an expert in the area of responsible alcohol sales, service and liability, will be the guest speaker at CADA's annual general meeting on Tuesday.
Slated to point out how establishments serving alcohol can be responsible in their sales and service, Ms Stanghetta will be helping CADA with their Bermuda Responsible Alcohol Sales and Service (BRASS) programme.
Still in its infancy, BRASS was implemented about a month ago and is designed to create safe environments in which alcohol can be served and sold.
The programme works with licensees and owners to develop alcohol management policies and to train front-line staff in responsible alcohol serving practices.
According to head of CADA Marketing, Lisa Webb-Baumgartner: "BRASS is a comprehensive approach to addressing three important social issues in Bermuda -- drinking and driving, underage drinking, and preventing alcohol sales to intoxicated persons.''
