local comedians, will stage a special performance in aid of the Wendy Wilkinson Performing Arts Fund at the Rum Runners Pub and Restaurant this evening.

Featured performers will include top American stand-up comedian Rico March, and local stars, Bootsie, Stuart Doyle, and limbo dancers Gigi and Carol-Ann.

Mr. Peter Petty, president of Atlantic Entertainment Limited which produces the Comedy Club, is a member of the board of governors of the Fund. He says that the entire proceeds of the show will be donated to the charitable Fund which promotes all aspects of the performing arts in Bermuda.

Future events planned by the Wendy Wilkinson Fund include a performance of Theatre Express's dinner/theatre production of The Dining Table on June 30.

Mr. Petty, who says that the Fund wants to encourage all kinds of performing artists, is also planning and Island Jam for July: "We want to bring Bermuda's best musicians and performers together for a evening of great entertainment. It will be an informal evening, because this is an umbrella charity and we want to involve as many people as possible.'' Tonight's benefit gets under way at 8 p.m. with a cocktail reception, followed by the show at 9 p.m. Tickets at $30 are available at the door.
