Association director Mel Wright said: "Scholarship awards are available for Bermudians either currently in construction or considering a career in construction.

"Awards of up to $2,000 value can be used in connection with suitable overseas or local education.'' The association awards the scholarships in a bid to promote interest in the construction industry among students considering their career options.

Applicants for the scholarships should be able to demonstrate an interest in construction and be able to supply character references, said Mr. Wright.

A good education background is required, but formal education qualifications may not be a necessity depending on the requirements of future education courses.
