Andes to the Oriente -- Birding in Ecuador'' tonight.
Ecuador has a vast array of habitats and species of bird that are sure to fascinate and Mr. Danzenbaker's travelogue will introduce several of the jewels of the Andes.
Included in the lecture will be an examination of the lowland jungles of the Amazon tributary Rio Napo, the Papallacta Pass at 12,000 feet and the hummingbird-rich western foothills at 3,000 feet.
Mr. Danzenbaker has led many tours in Ecuador and other countries including Venezuela, Panama and Brazil, as well as travelling to other neo-tropical destinations a number of times.
He has acted as a naturalist on bird and whale watching trips in Monterey Bay in California since 1990, and in 1999 was a naturalist/lecturer on board an Antarctic cruise which will be repeated at the end of this year.
Recently, Mr. Danzebaker started his own guiding company, Falcon's Eye Guiding, for birding in the Northern California area as well as other locations in North and South America.
Mr. Danzenbaker's talk will take place tonight at 7.30 p.m. in the Horticultural Hall at the Botanical Gardens. Bermuda Audobon Society Members' admission will be $5.00 while non-members will pay $7.50.
