Family night out at the National Gallery

A story in Monday's newspaper incorrectly reported that the Bermuda National Gallery's family night is tonight. The event is to take place next Wednesday, from 5.30 to 8 p.m.

Masterworks and the Bermuda National Gallery are to hold a family night this week in an effort to raise consciousness about the gallery.

Since the art gallery opened in March, attendance has been poor and the board of directors recently cut admission prices in an effort to lure more visitors.

Director Ms Laura Gorham says the object of the family night, which takes place on Wednesday, is not to raise money but to encourage families to participate in what the gallery offers and to take up membership.

The theme of the evening is "Eat, Paint and Investigate''. A barbecue will be held behind City Hall and activities will include tours of the gallery and a treasure hunt.

Artist Mrs. Margaret Downing Dill will also offer finger painting and t-shirt designing for the children.

The evening begins at 5.30 and will end at 8.00.
