W. A. (Toppy) Cowen said he was pleased that Tourism Minister David Allen had decided that the October 16 jamboree is to be promoted alongside the Dockyard music event.

He said: "We applaud their efforts and look forward to working within this new partnership for a very special weekend.'' In addition, a weekend craft market will be established from August 15 and 16, in a roadside marquee on property loaned by Willard Lightbourne.

The fair will run from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
