Fourways sells its Windsor Place Gourmet Store cafe
expanded services for its clientele.
It was recently purchased from Fourways by Mr. Steven Shorter, who has been in the restaurant and hospitality trade for some 30 years, since the age of 13.
Since taking over April 24, he has already started making changes to the kitchen and planning the extended breakfast and afternoon services. Mr.
Shorter had been the manager of the business for the last two years. Broker for the deal, Barry Capuano of CAPCAR Enterprises, said that Challenger Banks Ltd. management company has handled the management of Fourways enterprises and were also involved in the sale.
Mr. Shorter said, "There are about eight people on staff and we are hoping to take service to a higher level. We are putting in a full kitchen so that we would be able to do a full, sit-down breakfast. I'm also looking into doing an afternoon tea...the proper tea with the miniature scones, clotted cream and finger sandwiches.'' Mr. Shorter said the business was a stepping stone to other ventures.
He said, "Right now, I want to improve the service and increase the number of items on the menu that the customers have been used to getting. We want to take the business up a couple of notches.'' GOURMET CAFE -- New owner Mr. Steven Shorter rarely gets a relaxing moment at his new Windsor Place cafe.
