to the public for the first time next weekend.

The pictures are the work of English artist Edmund Gilling Hallewell who was garrisoned in Bermuda with the 20th East Devons Regiment from 1846 to 1847.

In 1848, Hallewell did a group of 13 panoramic lithographs depicting views from St. George's to Dockyard.

Art dealer Mr. Nicholas Lusher recently acquired 12 of the 13 Hallewell lithographs.

And he hopes to sell them to local collectors for about $30,000. Mr. Lusher estimates there are eight to ten privately owned sets of Hallewell's art on the Island.

The last set purchased by a local collector went for about $60,000 at Sotheby's in England.

The lithograph set, entitled "Views of the Bermudas'', will be on display and on sale at the Mount Langton showcase on the evening of July 23 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 24 and 25.

Also on display will be early Bermuda watercolours , vintage photos, antique furniture and prints.
