The Raynor designs, which range from casual long and short Earth-tone dresses to blacks, flower prints and stripes have become quite popular with the young crowd. Mr. Raynor said: "I plan to start the line off small and then grow. I decided to do this because I will be on the Island until the end of 1999 and my popularity has grown.'' "All the dresses have slits on the side, which is really trendy right now. I don't think they will sit around too long because the people I have shown them to have been quite excited.'' Mr. Raynor added he plans to continue with simple casual dresses and then expand into men's street wear and smart/casual items. "I make all the designs myself at home because basically, so far I have just been sewing for individual clients, but the need is there for me to expand. "The Gear Box has been kind enough to take on my plight and sell my merchandise. It's a good store because it is not too far out of town but not to close.'' "I have always wanted to feature a local designer and I guess the timing was just good when Lincoln approached me and asked whether I was interested,'' said the Gear Box's Mr. Smith. "I had seen some of this clothes before at fashion shows and I thought they were quite good and the detailing was good along with his choice in fabrics.'' Mr. Raynor's items range in price from $50 to $500. "I will be importing a lot of my fabrics to do this line, which is why some people my find my prices high but they are individual
