Health Watch is circulating a questionnaire throughout March to find out how Bermudians feel about their health system.

The group was formed to promote and work towards an improvement of the Island's health service.

President of Health Watch, Mr. Edward Fisher believes the 17-question document will be of great interest to the public and the Government.

He said people had already shown an interest and he is certain it will provide some interesting findings.

He said: "It is evenly balanced, there is no bias one way or another. The idea is to get the views of people and find out what they want from their health service.'' The first question is how important people feel health care is in Bermuda and the survey then goes into whether there are sufficient specialists and GPs, negligence, a Patients Bill of rights, specialists of other nationalities, value for money and what can be done to improve confidence.

It will be made available at a number of major organisations in the Island but copies are also available on request by phoning 291-1069.

Mr. Fisher stressed confidentiality would be kept where required and only he would open the letters marked confidential.

He said: "The Ministry of Health support our actions because it is in their interests to find out about what the public wants. I think the results of this survey will be very interesting.''
