disaster was rewarded for her endeavours yesterday.

Dawn Janice Wolffe was the hero of the hour when she found $1,400 belonging to departed St. George's Club guests Pat Holland and her husband.

The pair were already on their flight home to New York when Mrs. Holland found she had left the money in their cottage.

But after a short panic they were relieved to find that Ms Wolffe had already handed the money in.

Yesterday, Tourism Minister David Allen and Visitor Industry Partnership co-ordinator Stacey Evans honoured Ms Wolffe at a luncheon at the Royal Palms Hotel.

She became the fourth quarter Sunshine Awardee and received a gold pin and a two-night stay at the Royal Palms.

Mrs. Holland said the act of honesty saved the couples' annual wedding anniversary trip, to Bermuda last October from being scarred with bad memories.

"No words can express my sincere gratitude to Dawn for her honesty and caring,'' she said. "She had to know not only that I had lost the money, but that I would want to know as quickly as possible that it was found.

"The return of this money meant a great deal to both myself and my husband, less for its value, but more because our annual trip to Bermuda might have been scarred with a memory that would never leave us.''
