Plan for medical escort service
provide a medical escort service to patients travelling overseas.
Joining forces with the trio of April Vesey, Karen Barnshaw and Charmaine Bashir to incorporate Bermuda Mobile Nurses Limited are Bermuda Sun editor Thomas Vesey and Andrew Barnshaw.
"We plan to do a lot of things,'' Mrs. Barnshaw told The Royal Gazette yesterday. "The main thing will be to escort patients to the US for treatment on commercial airlines.'' She said there were a number of people who needed to go away for surgery and the company would provide this service at 24 hours notice. The group started preparing for the move last February and recently applied to incorporate the firm under The Companies Act 1981.
The application stated that the company would have the object of providing "medical and other care, support and assistance of all kinds, in particular escorting persons abroad and providing medical house care''. Mrs. Barnshaw said the firm planned to expand into other areas once it was established but declined to reveal what these would be.
