Secretary of The Race Unity Day Committee Melony Kendall said: "We want to make everyone aware that Baha'is believe in race equality as one of the basic principles of the faith.

"In order for the achievement of world peace, racial equality has to be realised.'' The adults' nine kilometre walk starts at 7 a.m. and the kids' race starts at 9 a.m. -- both from Victoria Park.

Walkers should register at 6.30 a.m. and runners should register at 8 a.m.

The Victoria Park concert will start at 4 p.m. and will feature Native American musician Kevin Locke.

There will also be various other local bands and entertainers.

All events are free and people from all denominations are welcome.
