Sports book goes on sale
lover.
The book, entitled "Bermuda Sports'', is a first for Mr. Trott -- a sports reporter at The Royal Gazette -- and the first of its kind for Bermuda.
Devoted solely to the many and varied sports on the Island, "Bermuda Sports'' covers more than 20 sporting activities, including cricket, soccer, rugby, track and field, cycling, harness racing, tennis, golf, field hockey, netball, softball and water sports.
With more than 100 pages of colour and black and white photographs, some dating back to 1979, Bermuda Sports captures many of Bermuda's sporting heroes during the highlight of their careers.
It also, through a series of action shots, records memorable moments of traditional sporting events, including Cup Match, the World Rugby Classic, the Gold Cup, Round the Island Boat Race, the Long Distance Comet Race, and the FA Cup.
Copies of Bermuda Sports, at $30 each, are available at The Bookmart on Reid Street, Bermuda Book Store on Queen Street, Mall Magazines in the Washington Mall, and at Sports-A-Wear on Bridge Street, St. George's.
Mr. Trott will be on hand for a book signing at Mall Magazines today from noon to 2 p.m.
He will also be signing copies of his book at The Bookmart from noon to 2 p.m.
on Saturday, and from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at Sports-A-Wear, next to King's Square.
"Bermuda Sports'' will also be on sale at Harbour Nights in Hamilton on October 1 and 8, from 6.30 p.m.
